I would suggest that you think back over Longbottom's actions to see if you remember anything else and wait to see who is most shocked or upset by his fate, but I have often found with Bella in a strop, the best thing to do is to wait until she works her way back around to you instead of volunteering yourself as a target; if you do not remind her that she set you a task, she will often forget that she had taken her ire out upon you.
