Letter to Mr Rosier

I loaned my owl to the Ministry and Mr Rosier said I could just write to him in my diary instead. Only it feels really odd to be writing to him in my diary where everyone can read. I guess I'll just write an entry instead because I know he reads it and everyone else does too.
On Mondays I have muggle studies and then history of magic and then astronomy lecture. Muggle studies and history are just with Gryffindor and then astronomy is with everyone. Anyway when we went to muggle studies today Miss Professor Carrow said she was separating out the halfblood and pureblood students and she sent me, Dean, and Katrina to sit in the back and left a whole row of seats between us and the other students.
Neville and Ron tried to come sit with us but she vanished the extra desks.
And then her lecture today was all about blood purity. I mean she started by saying Neville and Ron couldn't sit with us because they might infect us with something and it wouldn't be fair to put us in danger. And then her lecture was all about bad things that happen when wizards have babies with muggles and how it makes you weak and you get sick easily and you might harbour sickness and not know it even though it's not halfbloods who could have it and not know it's purebloods.
I thought maybe if theres really a risk we should sit separate in History too but Katrina didn't and Ron sat next to me and its not like Binns even notices where you sit.
I heard someone say that at the Ravenclaw table at breakfast this morning the prefects divided up the platters so halfbloods and purebloods weren't taking off the same platters. Because sometimes the serving fork touches someone's plate and a disease could get spread if your not super careful and anyway, its all to keep halfblood students safe so I don't mind really. But Percy didn't do it at lunch and I didn't want to ask him to because I don't want to be a bother. Katrina didn't even come to lunch I don't know where she went but I didn't see her. And I looked over at the other tables and I wasnt sure what they were doing. Whether they were serving food separate or if everyone was taking from the same plate, I don't know, do I even need to worry really? No ones gotten sick here! As long as no ones sick where would we even get the disease, right?
Anyway Mr Rosier I am working hard and doing all my homework and history club has been wizard, thank you for sending me all those books before the restrictions on packages started. Padma has been enjoying them too.

Date: 2010-02-01 09:06 pm (UTC)Clearly Slytherin needs a halfblood boy to help me out. I can't believe how much some of you boys eat.

Date: 2010-02-02 06:17 pm (UTC)I don't think it's exactly necessary for the halfbloods to all be at one end of the table, but if people want to make sure that the food is in separate dishes, then it makes sense, kind of, for them to all be on one end. Otherwise it'd be a made scene, wouldn't it, with people losing track of which bowl went where. I mean, it just sort of happens naturally, that the halfbloods are going to sit nearer the food set aside for them, right?
Anyway, I don't think sitting in separate rows in lessons is as important as when food is being passed about. And it's only while the Ministry is fixing the disease, and then things'll be back to normal. It's a bit mad to treat all halfbloods like their contaminated, though, because obviously some of you really make an effort and that shouldn't be ignored.
So I hope it doesn't last very long, anyway.
