You asked about my letter -- I wrote to Mr Malfoy, but he wanted owls (except from Draco). I got an answer today, a really long one, from his clerk, who's my friend Geoffrey's brother.

He told me all sorts of interesting things, including some of what happened with Mrs Malfoy last week. The attack was worse than what they said in the paper, it was really intended to kill her, apparently, and it was the Dogstar crowd that tried it, and Mr Malfoy had Mrs Malfoy's guard detail doubled. But they caught the man who did it, and got names from him -- that's probably what that post from that Charlotte person was about today, I don't know if you saw it.

His office just sounds so interesting! I wonder if I might be able to get an internship there sometime, like Percy did?

Although he also says Mr Malfoy is a difficult boss. Hooper apparently gets some perks working for him, like a lot of fresh food, but he's put on a few pounds and Mr Malfoy takes the mickey a lot.

They were really trying to kill her? I mean, just trying to bother her or frighten her is bad enough. But kill her? How? Did he say? Does Draco know? I mean, about the killing part. Not the attack part - obviously everyone knows about that.

Oh my goodness. That Charlotte Smythe journal put Hydra in their post. Do you reckon they're trying to say that she's next? That'd be dreadful, though honestly I can't see how anyone would get to her, not with her mum being who she is, and her uncle right here protecting Harry.

And I don't blame Mr Malfoy taking the mickey if Hooper's eating all his food.

Did he say anything else? Interesting, I mean? I know Parkinson likes going to Mr Malfoy's but did you know Draco doesn't really like it? Even though he wrote to his father?

(And don't remind me that he PM'd his father instead of owling. Morag's been on about it since it happened. I heard Summers whinging a bit, too. He wrote Mr Malfoy and he was not well happy that Draco 'broke the rules' - though how anyone can expect different when it's his own father he's writing is beyond me!)

No, Draco likes going home just fine. He doesn't care to go with his father to meetings and all. I don't know if he cares whether Parkinson's along or not, he's never said anything to me. But then I don't suppose he would do, even if he did mind.

Frobisher was in one of those clinics, only it was for the opposite reason, I think. I heard Chambers talking about it. I guess Frobisher thinks she's not skinny enough. Mad, since anyone can see she's barely got any flesh on her. Pretty soon she'd be able to join those dancing skeletons at Halloween. But the clinic was supposed to help her learn to eat, Chambers said. I wonder how they manage that? I mean, the way Frobisher acts, it's--

Oh. Oh, I think I might know what they did and why it's not working right.

That is interesting about Mr Malfoy not liking Minister Fudge, though. I mean, he loathed Ms Umbridge when she was Minister, right? So you'd think Minister Fudge would be an improvement. What kinds of things did Mr Hooper say about it? Like, why does he think Mr Malfoy hates Mr Fudge?
